The Place – Family and Children’s Project.

Carole and Lucy are pleased to be running The Place ….. where everyone is welcome with Children Under 5’s.     Both Carole and Lucy have previously worked in Faringdon and both have experience in working with children and families;  Carole within the children centre and Lucy at a local pre-school and the Infant School.

We hope you will come along and join us at Play at The Place, which is held in the Pump House Project, Swan Lane, Faringdon. We run 2 sessions every Thursday, 9-10.45am and 1-2.30pm. The sessions are all planned with the key development areas for 0-5 in mind.     We offer friendly advice and support along with varied activities, including craft/messy play, healthy snacks, singing and a story time.

We have joined up with Faringdon Breast feeding café and now run a support group with a qualified midwife every Thursday 11.45-1.00pm at The Pump House Project, Swan Lane, Faringdon.  Older siblings are welcome, we set up a few toys so they have something to play with. Come along and join us for some friendly support and advice and of course a cup of tea/coffee and a biscuit.

The Baby Place is a group aimed at pregnant and new parents with their bumps and babies, it runs on Fridays at the Baptist Church in Faringdon from 10.45am -12pm, where the local sling library attends once a month, giving you the chance to try on and hire a large variety of slings.

We have a Clothes Library with a large variety of maternity and baby clothes from birth -12 months, this is available during any of our groups.

The Movie Place runs monthly on a Wednesday we alternate with a “toddler cinema” and “mums with babies” film. For more information of upcoming dates, times and films please see our events page.

The Place also run a variety of different courses through out the year; Baby Massage, Family Links Parenting Puzzle Course and Paediatric First Aid Courses. For more information and to book onto any of these Courses please do contact us via email; or on Facebook

We would really appreciate any comments you can give us about what you would like to see at the groups.  Please contact us via our email: or on facebook:

The Place are always looking for volunteers to help with fundraising or at the Groups.  Volunteering can just involve a small amount of time but can be very rewarding and also can be included on cv’s.    Any help would be really appreciated and will help to ensure The Place’s sustainability in the longer term.

We look forward to meeting you at our groups soon.

With best wishes Carole & Lucy.

The Place Virtual Groups

Hello everyone!
We hope you are all keeping safe and well? We miss our groups and seeing you all so much, so we have come up with a plan to stay connected! We will be working hard over the next couple of weeks to set up 3 online virtual groups. The groups we are hoping to run are:
A New parent, new baby group, for parents who have recently had a baby and have not been able to come to any groups and meet others. A group for our existing Baby Place parents and a Virtual Breastfeeding Café.
If you would like to get connected and join any of these groups please email us at – or call Lucy on 07973678827.
Please share this with friends and family in Faringdon who have new babies or are due to have a baby soon as we would like to support them as best we can.
We hope to be connected with you all very soon!
Carole, Lucy and Ashley.

Domestic Abuse Helplines

We have received a number of links from various organisations about Domestic Abuse  and felt it important to share the below contact numbers:

Evidence shows that domestic abuse may rise when there’s an extra burden on relationships from a combination of financial pressure and being cooped up in close quarters.   We want you to feel safe in your home, so please don’t suffer in silence. If you’re affected, or know someone who is, there is confidential advice and support available.

Domestic abuse or violence is a crime and should be reported to the police – there are also other organisations who can offer you help and support.

Call 999 if it’s an emergency or you’re in immediate danger; if you are unable to talk on the phone, call 999 and then press 55. This will transfer your call to the relevant police force who will assist you without you having to speak
